We reached the Canadian Border without any problems around 10pm. The international youth hostel in Niagara Falls City was already waiting. A little Japanese guy stayed together with us in a room, but not for a long time, because we took off to see the Falls at night. I could not see any other option but a dinner at a Canadian Burger King. It tastes different, maybe because one get Canadian Dollars for change.
The second biggest waterfalls of the earth were not hard to find. Actually, there are two – the smaller American Falls and the really big Canadian Falls. Somehow, it really pissed some Americans off that the American Falls are smaller. So they tried to move the rocks on the ground away. They tried…
Since we reached the falls in winter, only half of the normal (600 thousand gallons) water was coming down the Canadian Falls. But still impressive, I admit. The good thing is: 95% less tourists in winter (so one can actually see the Falls and not only the tourists).
Both falls are spotlighted until midnight with changing colors. Where else should all the electricity which the local power station produces go?
After visiting a pizzeria of a Scottish man around midnight, we returned to the youth hostel.

On Tuesday we took a look at the Falls by day. We did a “Journey Behind the Falls”, where one can walk through a tunnel, which is almost reaching the Falls. The tunnel has also some picture and story tables of its construction and some holes, so you can see what is happing outside.
It is not that impressive, but the really good thing is: you can go on a platform that is very close to the bottom of the Canadian Falls.
The tunnel is inclusive, so we did not mind.

Then, it was time for the American side of the Falls. We walked around 40 minutes crossing the big bridge between Canada and the USA and donated a big smile to the custom officers. Unfortunately the platform on the American side was closed, but we got an interesting view on Niagara Falls City.

Additionally, we drove our Ford to a car workshop to find out what is wrong with it. The mechanic could not find anything during the five minutes we spent observing the battery charge status. So we took off to visit Toronto. .
